timberland A man safely escaped a fire in Beaverton that significantly damaged his home Tuesday morning, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

A passer-by called 911 just after 6:20 a.m. to report smoke and possible flames coming from trees or a field in the 6200 block of Southwest Timblerand Place, said Piseth Pich, a fire district spokesman. But when crews arrived minutes later, they found a fully involved house fire, with flames shooting from the front, back and roof of the home.

Firefighters found that no one was inside, and they controlled the fire in about 10 minutes, Pich said. They have continued to put out hot spots.

No one was injured.

Pich said the back of the house was significantly damaged. A fire investigator is on scene, and the fire's cause is under investigation.
